Behind the scenes

Questions
What happens to the money?
All the money raised goes back into Scouting for young people in and around Inverness: equipment, activities, camps and training for volunteers.
Can I post parcels or letters?
Scout Post is for Christmas cards only. Cards need to fit through a normal letterbox.
What if I miss the last posting day?
We stop collecting on the last posting day so there’s time to sort and deliver everything before Christmas. After that, please use Royal Mail.
What does the stamp look like?
It’s blue, with the white Scouts fleur-de-lis and the words Inverness Scout Post. Shops keep them by the till or next to the yellow box.
Can I use a Royal Mail stamp in a Scout Post box?
Every card in a yellow Scout Post box needs a blue Scout Post stamp. Cards with Royal Mail stamps should go in a red post box.
Will my card arrive by Christmas?
Yes, as long as it’s posted by the last posting day and the address is in Inverness, Smithton, Culloden, Balloch or Westhill. Writing the postcode clearly helps a lot.
